How come your website lists qld farriers?  I would have thought they were trade recognised by a qld association?  I have since found out there are two master farriers next door who I will be using for convenience sake. Theres another one 20 minutes away who I know is great at his job.

I haven't actually slandered anyone, and if it was written then it would be libel. Why did you say that in your post anyway?

I have worked in the building industry for many many years and have seen licensed builders do a bad job, I have run a few building firms and sacked licensed plumbers for doing a bad job. IMO not every licensed person is good at their job just as not every unlicensed
person is bad at their job.  I haven't said EVERY MF is bad at their job at all just that theres no guarantee. I have once or twice used MF's, one guy was great while another was weird and took all day to do four horses.  I knew another one who sent everyones horses lame.

Another thing is I don't even ask them what they charge until they have done the job.  My earlier comment was just to highlight that a person who charges more may not be a better tradesman.

I don't care if mine has letters or not...he def knows his stuff and is great with my pony!! And I quizz him all the time on stuff and he's as patient with my questions as he is with my ponies...but then again I go barefoot  Grin

Which reminds me...gotta ring him, ponies are due!

The new guy I used last time said that if people asked him on the phone how much he charged he wouldn't bother going out to them  Huh?  Where I live there is no atm so anyone out here may not have the right amount of cash. Plus I think I am entitled to a receipt. :Smiley

That's odd Indy...I mean people are entitled to know how much they are up for...and you do need to have the right change with you...I don't think most farriers carry around a cash float so they can provide you with change baha

Yeah I agree.  And I would've thought it was courteous to try and have the right dollar amount for the farrier on the day?
